The Learn about the 2025 Equinox EV is a capable, comfortable and surprisingly affordable electric SUV. Its spacious interior, intuitive controls and decent battery range make it hard to resist. And while there are other EVs out there that charge faster, look nicer or overtake more easily, Chevy has managed to create something compelling at prices that can easily come in under $35,000 after federal tax credits.

The base front-wheel drive powertrain delivers 220 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque with an 85-kilowatt-hour battery pack that promises 319 miles per charge. That’s plenty for a family SUV, and it’s also a bit quicker than the typical gas-powered Equinox model. A dual-motor all-wheel drive variant can be had with 300 horsepower and 355 lb-ft of torque.

While a few things still need to be refined (such as the lack of CarPlay and the overreliance on touchscreens), Chevy has done a lot right with its latest electric vehicles. The Equinox EV’s huge instrument and infotainment display feels well integrated into the dashboard, and its responsive and intuitive native apps are easy to use.
